As many of you know Monday's are one of my favorite days of the week...this is Brandon's day off from work and we try and plan fun things for all of us to do...this week was no different and we headed off to Herriman(about 30 minutes southwest of us) to check out the Blackridge reservoir. This reservoir is free to the public and is perfect for swimming and non-motorized water sports. Since we have moved to Utah I have been intrigued by paddle boarding...we were able to give it a try and I loved it!!! Can't wait to do more of it...I am sure I will be doing yoga poses on the paddle board in no time...LOL!!! Bailey and Ava got out in the kayak and did really well in the open water...when coming back to shore and navigating through the traffic...well they need some work on that. The major bonus of it all is that the girls were lights out Monday night and got a good nights rest...gotta love that!!!
Well here are some pics...the view never gets old
Setting up shop with kayak and paddle board...
Getting kayak ready to hit the water...
Quick lesson for Bailey before she gives it a whirl on her own...life jacket that Kaylinn is wearing has some miles on it...same one Bailey wore at the Outer Banks when she was 2!!!
Bailey on the kayak...so amazing all the fun things we are getting to experience.
Kaylinn is content to just keep swimming...
Brandon trying out paddle boarding for the first time...he went straight to standing!!
Ava waiting for her turn in the kayak...
Bailey out for a spin on the paddle board with Brandon...they both ended up standing once they got out of "traffic"
Kaylinn and I enjoying some time resting and snacking...
Yes even Kaylinn took a spin on the paddle board with Brandon...she also took a ride in the kayak with him.
All three girls with Brandon on the paddle board...lovin' life!!!
Another angle...
We continue to count our blessings and truly focus on enjoying every minute...as we all know this adventure isn't over yet!! Can't wait for what this next year in Utah has in store for us!!!
To more adventures,
the Dawes clan
