Thankful Thursday...all things Etsy...

I had a "BIG" week so to speak for me...so I am mostly gonna give the highlights & of course tons of pics. I am super excited to announce that my Etsy site jennd. DESIGN went live on Friday April 11th.   

I have been thinking of opening an Etsy site for awhile...like over a year...then in January of this year I made the decision I was going for it.  I updated my blog look...thank you Jana Tolman Design.  I got to work on a name and logo...thank you to my brother, Lance, with Innovative Designs.  And of course started brain storming what creative route I would take...and I decided on my love of sewing...it helps that I am in love with my sewing machine given to me by my grandma, thanks Grandma Rosy...a 1974 Singer...#vintage!!  Oh and fabric shopping may be one of my favorite things on the planet!!!  Thank you to my sister, Ang, for being a great fabric consultant!

Then to top off the week I had my first sale...#chaching!!!

My days are spent at the sewing machine and I can't wait to add more items to my shop.  I plan to start feature Friday's{tomorrow} on the blog to showcase what I have in the shop and what is to come!!!  Again what a great week!

jennd. DESIGN is OPEN for business...

Last week was a cRaZY one for me...no matter what I was getting jennd. DESIGN "live" on Etsy!!!  And yes it happened on Friday...but it happened!!!  #eeeek!  I really want to get a little something for everyone in my shop...right now it is mostly baby gear...due to a VERY special couple I know having a baby shortly...so I had lots of practice to perfect the goods. And obviously I would like to find that "signature" style...and I am getting there with it...but it will take time.

I am in the process of working on aprons for girls, boys and adults...prototyping the look/style...I will do a more traditional kitchen apron for all of my chefs and mini-chefs and then a gathering apron for all you gardeners and mini-gardeners out there!!  What kind of fabrics would you like to see??  My goal is to have matching fabrics...mommy & me...daddy & me...

Thursday 3/27 To do list #domination...nothing more to say about that!!  Yes I saved Hobby Lobby for last...the FUN stuff!!

Friday 3/28 After an awesome month of birthday celebration the day has arrived...MY BIRTHDAY!!!  Celebrated with a little interstate driving(my.biggest.fear...in the process of conquering) and a little gymnastics action!!

Saturday 3/29 #projects AND due to a late-ish evening at the gymnastics meet...we had to wait to have #birthdaysushi...#worththewait!!

Sunday 3/30 Since the hubby worked all weekend we did something completely out of the ordinary when he got home from work...went to eat at a restaurant...all 5 of us?!?!? We had a blast!  Check out this leather work my hubby did...my Etsy shop logo...COMING SOON!!!(the Etsy shop that is)

Monday 3/31 10 mile run...I am now mentally ready for the SLC half marathon April 19!!!  #gotime

Tuesday 4/1 Working on some product for jennd. DESIGN...#whistlewhileyouwork...wait I don't know how to whistle...Pandora radio it is!! (and Brews on 7th coffee...#yum)

Wednesday 4/2 Fabric in the mail...yes please!!!  Loving fabric.com and Girl Charlee fabrics!!! Thanks again...Katie, Carly, Mia and Kristal...this lifts me up each week!!!

Thankful Thursday...week 2...for me...

So glad that I am able to focus on a few things that I am thankful for each day!!!  Reminds me how sweet my life is...and of course keeps me in the right frame of mind...and focusing on the good, great and AWESOME!!

~Thursday 3/6~ Well I have got to tell you going to my children's conference's is just what this momma needs for a little boost...after listening to my girls' teachers speak so highly of them I have to admit...that filled my mom cup!!!  Especially when I hear how willing they are to help others in their class and their teachers!!  And I was also VERY thankful for the Target $1 bins...I mean...need I say more!  I was able to snag tons of fun party items for the birthday club party that we hosted on Saturday.  Oh and one other amazing thing about this day was I got to get coffee from my fav coffee place...Brews on 7th...oh how I missed you during my 28 day detox.

~Friday 3/7~ With hosting birthday club on Saturday and having it be a gymnastics competition weekend...I had a "to-do" list as long as my leg...and I had to decide what could be done a day ahead and what I could ONLY do the day of the party...so I was of course SUPER thankful for my pint size helper...love her...and she clearly understands that there is a perk to helping mom make cake and brownies.  I also visited Zurcher's for the first.time.ever and I must say...where has that store been my whole life??  I could lay in that store and bask in its awesomeness all day...not even kidding!!! #partysupplies is a weakness of mine...a close second to #officesupplies!!  

Once again Bailey amazed us with her grit, grace and determination at the Crystal Cup gymnastics meet...hosted by our gym Olympus Gymnastics...so proud of her always!!  She once again took 1st place on bars with a 9.3 and had a great overall showing. (I will do a more elaborate post on the meet once done sifting through some AMAZING photos!!!)
~Saturday 3/8~ Our first ever neighborhood birthday club(soon to be a monthly occurrence)...an extension of our neighborhood book club...created for two reasons...#1 some gals wanted in on the fun without the reading AND #2 we hated waiting 4 weeks in between seeing each other!!!  How awesome is that!!!  We decided to make it a family event and not just a #girlsnight and I must say it was super fun watching the "BOYS" bond.

~Sunday 3/9~ Thankful for my gift of crafting...and my ability to do many types of projects from sewing to knitting and crocheting...my goal this year is to make each girl a blanket...making good progress on Kaylinn's!  

~Monday 3/10~ YOGA!!!  Thank you for letting me release the weeks tension...see you next Monday.
~Tuesday 3/11~ Once again my ability to craft has me on the happy train...love making gifts for all the new babies that keep popping up.  Also was super thankful to my neighbor who found a piece of my mail blowing in the wind by his house...it was my labels for the pieces I will sell on Etsy...definitely would have been sad to never know what happened to them.

~Wednesday 3/12~ And of course super thankful to this blogging community...so many fun blogs/people...and great ideas of all kinds...one being bento boxes and thanks to a great blog post by Jess at Craftiness is not Optional...I was able to get some great inspiration and links to all the tools I needed to get the bento party started at our house...of course I will document this new adventure!!   And last but not least for this week...in the almost 2 years that we have lived in Utah...I just can't get over the beauty of it!!

Thankful Thursday

As you may have noticed as of late I have up'd my blog "game"...LOL!!!  So here's to another adventure in the blogging world...I am linking up...which for those of you who don't know is a way for bloggers to unite and join in on a similar topic...through my link up research I have found all kinds of great topics...but I couldn't help but notice Thankful Thursday...hosted by Katie Elizabeth, Make Me Up Mia, Carly Blogs Here and The Strong Family...and it is by no accident that today is my first link up to their party...the Lenten/Easter season over the years has been grabbing onto my heart and digging deeper into my spirit...so like I said this is the perfect time of year to dive into what I am thankful for each Thursday!!! (sooooo excited to share...been planning this for a week...hope you enjoy!!)

I got to spend reading time with two of my girlies at Parents & Pastries...and I got an exciting invite in the mail!!! #auntiejennisreadyforaniece...No pressure Anna & Lance!!

~Friday 2/28~

Because my birthday month was ONLY one day away...I just HAD to buy myself my first pressie.  Thanks to The Modern Tulip...I can't wait to slip this baby on my wrist...and I can tell already this won't be my last purchase!!  I also took some time to start construction of the actual products I will be selling on my Etsy site...obviously more information on that SOON!!!

BIRTHDAY MONTH!!!!  And some of my favorite craft spots know it too...and did I mention it is National Craft Month...#perfection!!!

Love taking sneak peak photos of what's to come!!  And love all the little packages I am getting in the mail of supplies I will use as I start mailing out orders...EEK!!!

~Monday 3/3~

28 days later...detox dominated!!!  Check out the previous blog post...it says it all!!  And I celebrated with lunch at Cafe Rio!!  I don't have a pic of this...but I also had a blast doing a 3 mile trail run with the hubby!! (Should have done a #trailrunselfie...but he would have been suspicious.)

Love that I have time in my day to work on crafts of all kinds...I especially love when I can gift them to someone who can put them to good use!  And lovin' the photo of Crazy Hair Day!!

~Wednesday 3/5~

Ummm...duh the fact that I ran with my sister was epic...yes I was in Utah and she was in South Dakota...but that didn't stop us...#thankyoutechnology.  Again don't have a pic of this but I am always thankful for my morning/afternoon coffee with my gals...reminds me that I am an adult and I am not alone!!

Can't wait to see what next week has to bring!!!

NEW LooK..

I am so excited to be sharing the new look of my blog...the reason I decided to update my blog and give it a fresh, clean, professional, "Jenn" look is because I will be launching an Etsy site very soon...I want this to be a place where I share ALL of my life but also market my new love for sewing all things for all ages!!! So here are a couple of HUGE thank you's that I need to make...#1 thank you Jana Tolman for taking my worksheet/questionnaire and turning it into this masterpiece I call my blog...it is PERFECT!!!  I started off with a few words(vintage, whimsical) and a color scheme...if you are ever in the market for a blog update I HIGHLY recommend her...no matter your location...we did all of this work via email!!   (Thanks Laura Kennan for the referral!!)

My #2 thank you goes to my bro Lance Husman...he has been working with me on my business logo!!!  With the help of his amazing skillz we turned my "stick" drawing into a piece of art...it is PERFECTION!!!  If you need anything created logo-wise...business cards...t-shirts...you must check out Innovative Designs website.  I am so proud of him and of course blessed to be on the receiving end of his amazing talent.  I will continue to work with him in order to roll out any other business tools I may need!  Thank You so much!!

I of course will continue to share all of the Dawes Family adventures...I just have more to share now...my love for running and how that correlates with my everyday life...and my new found passion for creating handmade gifts turned into a little business endeavor!!  I have been busy prototyping many of the products that I will be offering so I can't wait to share more...I will have sneak peeks VERY soon!!!  You will see there are more places to visit on the blog now...be patient as I update them all...because first and foremost I am a mother and wife!!! Then blogger, runner, crafter...LOL!!!
